Summer Concerts in Philadelphia

Music lovers will enjoy the soothing sounds of music all summer long in Philadelphia with free summer concerts at Penn’s Landing and Rittenhouse Square Park. Whether you want to rock out on the city’s historic urban space or enjoy the sultry sounds of jazz along the riverfront, Philly offers a sizzling summer of hot music and cool times.

Enjoy free summer concerts on Friday and Saturday nights on the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing. Located on the banks of the Delaware River, the Summer Concert Series at Penn’s Landing offers live music on the waterfront – from jazz and R&B to classical and gospel. Hear the Philadelphia Orchestra on the River Stage on July 2nd followed by a spectacular fireworks show, and enjoy Smooth Jazz Summer Nights throughout August. Don’t miss the Mad Decent Block Party – the summer’s biggest street bash – on July 27 with performances by Major Lazer and Dillon Francis on the Great plaza.

Rock out at Concerts in the Park – Rittenhouse Square Summer Concert Series, featuring live music on Wednesday nights in August. This lively summer concert series at Rittenhouse Square Park presents local and national bands playing everything from rock and country music to jazz and R&B. Throw down a blanket on the grassy expanse, enjoy a summer picnic with friends and enjoy free live music on Philadelphia’s most historic urban space. The Rittenhouse Square Summer Concert Series is held Aug. 15, 22 & 29, from 7 to 9 PM.

And don’t miss Jay Z’s Made in America Music Tour returning to Benjamin Franklin Parkway for Labor Day Weekend, 2013; featuring headliners such as Beyonce, Queens of the Stoneage, and Wiz Khalifa.

After a summer concert, enjoy the modern luxury of The Rittenhouse overlooking Rittenhouse Square in Center City Philadelphia. This extraordinary hotel features beautiful rooms and suites with rich décor and everything you need to unwind after the show. Indulge in creative world cuisine at Lacroix or grab a hand-crafted cocktail at Bar 210 or The Library Bar– both great spots to meet friends before the concert.
